Underarm Laser Hair Removal Permanent effect is reached when laser light destroys the hair follicle, and a hair can no longer grow from it. Generally, clients need about two to six laser treatments in order to completely get rid of hair. You can expect to see about a 10% to 25% reduction in hair after your first treatment. As you continue your treatments, more and more hair will fall out. Laser hair removal uses light to target the pigment in individual hairs. The light travels down the shaft of the hair and into the hair follicle to destroy it. As result, a hair can no longer grow.

Popular treatment areas for men include the neckline, beard, and back of the neck.

Popular treatment areas for women are the upper lips, cheeks, chin, and sideburns.

after treatment care

Seeing ingrown hairs, bumps and irritation after having laser hair removal is not uncommon and can happen with any laser hair removal treatments. At VS MedSpa Laser Clinic we have the SOLUTION.  Our specialists will provide the follow-up care to prevent the inflammation of the treated area. WE KNOW HOW!

Your clinician will provide you with specific follow-up care instructions. Below are some general guidelines for what you can expect as you heal.
After your treatment, expect to be able to resume your normal daily activities. You will notice redness at the treatment site, which should resolve in a day or two. You can manage any discomfort that you have with wrapped ice packs or gel packs (do not apply ice directly to skin). You may bathe and shower as usual, but keep in mind that the treated area may be temperature sensitive.
Until redness has resolved, avoid the following:

  • Sun exposure and tanning on the treated area. Apply an SPF 45 or greater sunscreen to prevent injury to the treatment area and to prevent changes in pigmentation.
  • Applying cosmetics to the treated area.
  • Swimming, especially in pools with chemicals such as chlorine.
  • Hot tubs, Jacuzzis, and saunas.
  • Activities that cause excess perspiration or any activity that may raise your core body temperature.
  • Aggressive scrubbing and use of exfoliates on the treated area.

The whole body laser hair removal costs between $1700 and $2000 on average. The cost depends on the amount of hair on the body and how many treatment sessions are needed. If larger areas of the body such as the back do not require laser treatment, the cost is reduced significantly.

There is one benefit of laser hair removal for you underarms that you may not have considered – the fact that it can resolve darker pigmentation in your underarms. This will ensure that your underarms aren’t excessively darker than the skin on the rest of your body.
